The Children who ate the sun
The Children who ate the sun was a solo project I created during my second year of University. The focus of this project was Narrative Design, however I also got to show off my ability with Unreal Engine 5 as well.
This short prototype focuses on you and your partner who have gone to aid a distress call from a spaceship only to find it is completely abandoned and the power has been disabled. You need to find the missing crew members, turn the power on and leave the ship.
Key Development Areas:
- Unreal Engine 5 Blueprinting to create a branching dialogue system.
- Setup animation blueprints for a walk cycle and idle animation.
- Setup basic AI Behaviour to trigger different dialogue and to navigate the level
- Built the level using sourced assets from the UE5 marketplace.
- Setup and optimized the lighting throughout the level.
